Come learn the principles and techniques of Ayurvedic Massage.  Learn a sublime 75 minute Ayurvedic Massage sequence and gain an understanding of how to integrate Ayurvedic principles into your bodywork practice.  This training will take place in a beautiful yoga sanctuary and is a unique blend of lecture, contemplative practice, and hands on training. 

Expect to learn:

*  The fundamental principles of Ayurveda including brief history, its influence on and how it interfaces with modern holistic healthcare.

* The five elements and three doshas of Ayurveda.  Healing through the ten pairs of opposites (20 gunas)

* Gain insight into your own unique Ayurvedic constitution.

*  A sublime 75 minute Ayurvedic Massage sequence.  This sequence is the culmination of many years of study in the healing arts.  There will be ample time for hands on practice.

*  Some of the principle marma (energy) points and how to integrate them into a massage.

*  Benefits and contraindications,  constitutional assessment  (prakrti and vikrti), how to choose the appropriate oils, essential oils, and quality of touch

* Each participant will leave with a 30+ page manual which will include the principles covered, additional information and resource guide, and the complete detailed massage sequence. 

* Please bring massage sheets, 2 towels, and a bathing suit (two piece for women).  Expect these to get a little oily.

* Pack a lunch for each day (or there are eateries nearby).  We will break from Noon-1:00 each day for lunch.

* Please wear casual comfortable clothing.

 *Limited to 8 participants so please register as soon as possible to secure your place.  If you need to cancel, you must do so no later than Oct 16th in order to receive a refund.

Mira Gale has been serving as a healer and educator in the healing arts for fifteen years.  She was a longtime resident of Shoshoni Yoga Retreat where she served as lead massage therapist, Ayurvedic Therapist, Ayurvedic Cook, yoga and meditation instructor, and staff manager.  She trained therapists on treatment protocols and offered Ayurvedic lifestyle consultations.   A licensed massage therapist and certified yoga instructor, she graduated from the Colorado School of Healing Arts and has studied Advanced Ayurvedic Hands-on Techniques, Marma Points, and Ayurvedic Herbology at the Ayurvedic Institute.  She is certified through the Vedic Institute as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Educator.

She integrates Ayurveda into her yoga practice (teaching an Ayurvedic Yoga class each Friday at Yoga Elements in downtown Louisville) and her private bodywork practice in Boulder and Lafayette.    She offers Ayurvedic bodywork trainings to other therapists as a way of sharing her love of Ayurveda.  These trainings are unique in that they are a blend of lecture, contemplative practice, and hands on practice.
